Forgotten Project Black Hole

I have been soooooo unmotivated the last few weeks…. Well, ok the last few months!  So, I really have not crafted too awful much.  As I look around my craft room I am seeing loads of projects to do.  Do you have any of these bins, stacks, and piles in your craft room?

Hanging shoe & sweater organizers

Stacks on shelves

Piled in a cupboard - notice the plastic bag lower right

Pile on the ironing board
(oh no, I've become my mother - love you mom!)

Pile on the work table amidst lots of clutter

Guilty as charged!  Yes, these are just a few of my unfinished projects.  I have started a number of projects then they were tossed into a bin, on a shelf, or in a plastic bag, to be lost in the forgotten project black hole forever.  My biggest crime is the double cover-up.  I put the project in a bag and then I put the bag in a cupboard or in a closet.  I may open the door but never look in the bag – that would require twice as much effort! So…

“From this day forth I do hereby resolve to not begin another project until I finish all of the projects hiding in my craft room (and elsewhere around my house).”

Yeah, we’ll see how long this actually lasts J

First a couple ground rules: if I have a sketch or design but have no materials the project is considered new, and if I have purchased materials but have not yet begun any kind of work the project is also considered new.  Finally, ideas can spring forth at any time and I can write them down or make a sketch and take notes, but I CANNOT PURCHASE ANY MATERIALS FOR NEW PROJECTS!  Of course, this last part will be the hardest J  JoAnne's is way too close to my office!  Now, let’s make a list so we have something to work from.

1.       Re-cover seat cushions for our boat

2.       Finish curtains for our boat

3.       Finish “Blue Skies Bedspread” afghan

4.       Quilt & bind big-block baby blanket

5.       Paint & decorate wooden signs – there are 10 of those, yikes!

6.       Finish “New Jersey Baskets” quilt

7.       Finish recycled apron

8.       Do my mending & alterations – yes this can be a detestable task, but I have let it go far too long

9.       Finish “Bright Taffy” quilt

10.   Finish granny square receiving blanket

11.   Finish neck warmers – OMG I cut out 18 of those, maybe I will alter this project somehow…

I believe that is all – all that I have found tonight while rummaging around in my craft room, anyways.  Before I can begin any project, I am going to need to clean this room.  It’s a mess!  So, I am off to clean my work space… Happy Crafting!
